DAY 6 TO 10 – KM 138,1 TO 326,3

Climbing & descending and climbing more before descending again, then climbing, climbing and climbing before going down and down anddown, never without climbing one more time. And at the end of the day there is a lake, I just camped near three in the past five days, and of course jumped in all of them, one of them was frozen, literally frozen and I couldn’t stay in for more than 10 seconds but even those 10 seconds gave me so much life.

Most of my day I spend alone, some days I also camp alone, and one night I thought I was alone until six or seven rats tried to get inside my tent, what a night!

The person I have spent the most time with until now has been Behemoth, a guy from Minnesota doing the PCT while his wife is doing a fellowship in Iowa. Sometimes we don’t see each other for a day or two but we end up meeting somewhere.

My body is feeling great, even though sometimes while climbing my head is so low it is almost hitting the floor, but then I look around and I just get more and more amazed by the views.

Day 6 (36 km) – Some rats wanted to sleep with me; Day 7 (38,1 km) – Jumped in a frozen lake; Day 8 – (43,9 km) – Why do mosquitoes exist? Day 9 – (41,4 km) – Just wanted to eat and eat more; Day 10 – (29,2 km) – Resupply day, loads of food.
