I love smiles but I don’t like to photograph smiles. Contradictory? Maybe yes, maybe no, I don’t know! I know that the smile is one of the best things in the world, the most beautiful, be it little or very expressive, embarrassed or passionate, it does not matter. What matters is that smiling people are more beautiful, their energy is better and their problems go away.
In a photograph I try to show the reality of a certain moment, to enter the soul of people through their eyes, their expression… not to transmit something “easy” through their smile. Perhaps I want something more philosophical!
