FACES OF THE WORLD – TAKE III

Do you know that feeling of wanting to pass through the TV screen to live what you are watching?! I have it many times, especially when I see National Geographic Channel. I imagine myself walking in mountains, forests and valleys isolated from civilization, watching wild animals in their natural habitat, which is the only place where they should be, and I also imagine myself living with tribes or nomads.

In 2014 I passed through my TV screen and experienced it for the first time, or at least in this life, in the Mentawai Islands, Indonesia. There I was, in the middle of a forest that used to be nearly infinite but which is now closer to nothing thanks to us, eye to eye with someone who had timelines marked on his body … and how beautiful these lines are.

This as all the other articles on this site are translated by my good friend Devo Forbes!!
