Within a few days I will fly over the Atlantic, and a few days later I will be Walking Around South, which is to say, walking over 4 thousand km south, just a stroll!

It’s a dream that I’ve had for a long time, although I don’t know exactly when the idea first came to me – I do know that in 2015, on a journey around the world, I was thinking about doing this walk but I didn’t have enough money. I also know that in 2017 and 2018 I tried to find sponsorship but I didn’t get any, and I know as well that I told myself I would not try in 2019, I wanted to get the idea out of my head, and managed to do that. Well, it’s 2019, and I’m really going to do the walk.

It was no longer a priority in my life – I honestly had some internal struggles these months to see if I was going to do it for the right reasons or not and the nicest answer in my mind was: “Of course you are, silly…”. The other reasons I cannot mention here because they are too aggressive.

So I’m going and I’m going with everything I’ve got – the purpose is not just to go but to live, and then afterwards to write another book, or rather, a piece of art. I really like my first book, in my opinion it is awesome – I wouldn’t say it is if I didn’t believe it was true – but this new one will have to be much more, at least in my eyes. More than one or two beautiful pictures, more than one or two funny stories, this book will have to make you really feel, in the same way as art does.

After all, what is the Pacific Crest Trail?

The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is a walking trail that stretches from the United States border with Canada to its border with Mexico. It passes through the states of Washington, Oregon and California. The whole route passes through forests and national parks, among mountains and deserts, avoiding civilization.

How long it takes?

Between 4 and 6 months is what most walkers take to finish: 5 months gives an average of 30km per day.

More things?

Hmm!! I will carry everything I need to survive and live during this walk in my bag: tent, sleeping bag, clothes, food and water, only every 3, 4, 5 days will I arrive in villages and be able to buy food, otherwise I will be always in the middle of mother nature, so good!!

And that’s it: follow this story on my Instagram and Facebook pages – whenever I get to civilization and have internet I will share photos and videos.

See you soon, see you soon!

P.S – Iati Insurance goes with me, HERE I talk about the importance of traveling with travel insurance.
